Season Changer

Mark it down on paper. Every year the Browns are due for one emotional, spirit-lifting performance at Browns Stadium. The 2009 version came last night in the Browns stunner over Pittsburgh. It’s amazing how one victory over your arch-rival can change the outlook of a season. Heck it probably even saved the jobs of the coach and quarterback too. For one day at least, Browns fans can hold their heads high and take pride in knocking the defending Super Bowl champs out of realistic postseason contention.

From today’s PD:

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin vowed to “unleash hell in December” to motivate his Steelers back into playoff contention.

Thursday, indeed, was a cold day in hell for him and his Steelers. The Browns stunned the Steelers, 13-6, in what will be known as the signature game of the Eric Mangini era.

“We all know how important the games against Pittsburgh are,” Mangini said. “It’s exciting for me, for the team, and hopefully for the city as well. We’re going to continue to work hard. I’m happy for them and proud of them.”

High fives all around the office this morning. GO BROWNS!!
