That’s the estimate of how many Clevelanders turned out for Obama’s speech yesterday. And I was one of them! He spoke just outside of Cleveland Browns Stadium and was preceded by a Bruce Springsteen performance. It was definitely an awesome time! Among the key points in Obama’s speech were his desire to see the middle class thrive once again, his insistence upon cooperation and diplomacy in foreign policy, and his belief that our country should foster social progress and acceptance of ALL citizens at home. These fundamental ideals and core values–cornerstones of the Democratic Party–are why I personally give my time and energy to support Democratic candidates for public office.
It’s now up to us to encourage all of our friends and family to vote tomorrow regardless of their schedule, of the weather, of long lines, or of any other factor that could potentially dissuade them from voting. Our economy, our jobs, our future, and potentially 2-4 supreme court justice appointments (out of only 9 in total) are all on the line. This election could not be more crucial. It’s OUR time so let’s do our part to fix this country!
